A little about me.

I grew up in upstate NY and made my way out west a few years ago - where I was introduced to fly fishing on the Truckee River in California. There’s nothing like getting skunked for your first time to make you want to keep going...and going.

Fly fishing to me is the ultimate experience - not only is it a stress reliever, it’s also the right amount of competition with yourself. The repeated actions on the water, with the nature surrounding you, makes you more present than you can experience in your everyday life.  I believe there are more and more opportunities to make fly fishing more inclusive and accessible.

I completed fly fishing guide school at an Orvis-endorsed program in Idaho - on the Henry’s Fork and the South Fork of the Snake river.

My professional experience prior to guiding is in consulting and coaching teams to drive their business results. I now live in Salt Lake City, surrounded by beautiful rivers and reservoirs, looking for new experiences fly fishing as much as possible.

Building a more inclusive fly fishing environment

One of my goals is to build a space for womxn, LGTBQ+, and BIPOC on the water. I’ve been on enough waters to see that there is a complete lack of diversity and representation of the communities that surround those waters.

I’ve walked into fly shops and have been told that I’m in the wrong place and that the other shops are next door. I was the third woman to be certified at my fly fishing guide school. Women are not only the fastest, but the only demographic in fly fishing that’s growing.

Let’s hook set the patriarchy on all waters. Say goodbye to fly fishing as an exclusive sport for rich white men, the old boys club. It’s about learning and bringing people together - in solidarity and compassion…while catching some fish. There’s a lot of work to do out there, and hoping I can be one small part of it.
